In Alpinestars Helmet Development they were given the task to research and develop the most protective, most comfortable and lightest possible motocross helmet. The goal was to let riders push the boundaries of performance, to benefit from confidence-inspiring safety technology, reduced weight distribution to minimize muscle strain in the neck, shoulders and back. The design is in line with the philosophy of Alpinestars: flowing and streamlined. The design ensures that the forces released in an accident are not distributed over the head. In addition, the motocross helmet is also equipped with the MIPS system. All these new developments ensure that the Alpinestars Supertech S-M10 Meta motocross helmet performs no less than 48% below the rotational force standard in the mandatory MotoGP helmet test. The opening is designed for a wide range of motocross goggles. As a result, almost all motocross goggles close well and the motocross helmet offers excellent ventilation. In addition, the Alpinestars Supertech S-M10 Meta motocross helmet shell has a separate shell designed for each size of motocross helmet, compared to many other motocross helmets. This guarantees maximum protection for any size motocross helmet.

Multidirectional impact protection system: MIPS.

• MIPS is built into the Supertech M8 to help reduce rotational motion energies impacting the helmet, which helps transfer damaging rotational forces to the brain.
• The Supertech M10 helmet incorporates a low-friction 'slip' layer between the comfort layer and the multi-density polymer energy-absorbing shell. When energy impacts the helmet, creating a rotational force, the MIPS layer allows the inner absorption layer to move to dampen and redirect the energy before significant acceleration stress is applied to the brain. This reduces the causes of brain injuries such as concussion.
