What is contrast?

How does the eye perceive contrast?

Through years of research, we have learned that our eyes are better at perceiving certain wavelengths than others. The eye can be thought of as the lens of a camera. There are parts and mechanisms within the eye that control the vital role in our ability to to see things sharply, in color, darkly and brightly. By controlling what is allowed through the intensifier lens, we can determine how the external environment is perceived.
